The full capital cost of the new hospice is over €9m, including site preparation, construction, all professional and other fees, and VAT (which is not recoverable).
To date (mid 2018) €5m has been raised by the Foundation through the dedicated efforts of volunteers and the generosity of many people in Wicklow and beyond.
We have commitment for a capital grant of €1.25m from HSE, and pledges of further funds from generous donors. These will be available as the building proceeds. We also have approval for a bank loan to be repaid over 7 years.
We will raise the balance between the capital cost and what we have sourced to date over the next year as the building work proceeds.
Our annual report and financial statements for the most recent financial year are at this link.
Elliott Building & Civil Engineering Ltd (elliottgroup.ie) have been appointed as contractors and have started on the building. The foundations are currently being laid (August 2018).
Construction is scheduled for completion in September 2019; fit out will follow, allowing us to open the hospice and care for patients in 2019.
